Scientists and the Geological Survey of India (GSI) have confirmed the presence of massive gold deposits deep underground in the Mahgawan–Keolari area of Sihora tehsil, Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh. Preliminary surveys show the gold-bearing zone covers around 100 hectares, and experts estimate the quantity could run into lakhs of tonnes, making this one of the most significant mineral finds in central India’s recent history.
