He was attacked by a bike-borne assailant while travelling on a rickshaw and was kept on life support. Hadi, spokesperson of the Islamic group Inquilab Manch and an independent candidate from Dhaka, was attacked a day after election dates were announced. His death has triggered violent protests in the capital.
