The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is developing a new mobile application that will enable nearly 8 crore subscribers to withdraw eligible portions of their Provident Fund (EPF) instantly via UPI starting in April 2026. Part of the broader "EPFO 3.0" digital upgrade, this initiative aims to provide bank-like convenience and reduce claim settlement times from days to mere minutes. The UPI withdrawal system will allow instant transfers with a suggested limit of ₹25,000 per transaction, while 25% of the balance remains locked. A new mobile app will be used for these transactions. The process will likely involve Aadhaar verification and a UPI PIN, crediting funds instantly to a linked account. Trials are ongoing. #news
