At least 17 passengers were killed and several others injured after a private sleeper AC bus collided with a container truck on NH-48 near Hiriyur in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district, triggering a massive fire. The bus, travelling from Bengaluru to Gokarna with 32 passengers onboard, was engulfed in flames moments after the crash, while the container driver also died on the spot.
