🇮🇳 DEFENCE & LEGAL NEWS| PATRIOTIC EDITION 🇮🇳 🪖 DEFENCE NEWS 1️⃣ IAF to showcase real combat integration at Republic Day 2026 For the first time, the Indian Air Force will present an operational formation inspired by “Operation Sindoor” during the 2026 Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path. Operation Sindoor was a high-precision tri-services military campaign launched in May 2025 following a major terror attack in Pahalgam, highlighting real-world joint battle integration. 2️⃣ DRDO accelerates next-generation electronic warfare push The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is intensifying efforts in advanced electronic warfare technologies. Speaking at the Electronic Warfare Conference-India (EWCI) in Bengaluru, DRDO officials stated that India aims to emerge as a global defence technology leader by 2047. 3️⃣ Indian Navy signs contract for specialised barges The Indian Navy signed a contract on 16 January 2026 with M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane (MSME shipyard) for the construction and delivery of three 200-tonne Bottom Opening Non-Propelled Barges, strengthening naval logistics and self-reliance. 4️⃣ INS Sudarshini set for global Lokayan-26 expedition The Navy’s Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini will embark on a 10-month transoceanic voyage under Lokayan-26, beginning 20 January 2026, showcasing India’s maritime heritage and naval outreach across continents. 5️⃣ Indian Coast Guard inducts two new Dornier-228 aircraft The induction of two Dornier-228 aircraft into the Indian Coast Guard on 19 January 2026 at Kanpur, handed over by HAL, marks a significant boost to coastal surveillance, maritime security, and search-and-rescue capabilities. ⚖️ LEGAL NEWS 1️⃣ ED conducts multi-state searches over temple asset misuse The Enforcement Directorate conducted searches at 21 locations across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in connection with alleged misappropriation of gold and other assets linked to Sabarimala Temple. 2️⃣ ED raids in ₹658 crore fake ITC scam The ED is also carrying out searches in Jharkhand, Manipur, and Kolkata related to a massive fake Input Tax Credit (ITC) scam worth about ₹658 crore, involving firms accused of generating fraudulent invoices without actual supply of goods or services. 3️⃣ Kishtwar anti-terror operation continues in J&K In Jammu and Kashmir, several individuals were detained for questioning as a large-scale search operation to flush out terrorists entered its third day in the upper reaches of Kishtwar district.
