The Self-Appointed Manager of the World In international politics, leaders usually respect one simple rule: every country chooses its own leaders. Apparently, that rule has not yet reached the desk of Donald Trump. Recently, Trump declared that he should be involved in selecting the next Supreme Leader of Iran. He even rejected the possibility of Mojtaba Khamenei — the son of the late Iranian leader — calling him “unacceptable” and a “lightweight.” This statement raises a small but important question: since when did the U.S. president become the global recruitment officer for foreign governments? Imagine the scene. Iran’s religious council gathers to decide the country’s next leader. Suddenly someone says, “Wait! Did we check if Trump approves?” If not, perhaps the meeting must be postponed until the White House HR department sends its final recommendation. Trump seems to believe that choosing leaders in other countries is just another real-estate deal. You negotiate, reject the candidate, and finally appoint someone who fits your “brand.” Unfortunately for him, international politics is not a reality TV show where the host points a finger and says, “You’re fired.” The irony is almost poetic. The man who built his political image around “America First” now appears eager to run the internal affairs of other nations as well. If this continues, perhaps he will soon offer to select the next prime minister of Britain, the next president of France, and maybe even the next Pope. Of course, world leaders sometimes try to influence events abroad. But openly announcing that you should personally help pick another country’s supreme leader requires a special combination of confidence, theatricality, and a remarkable disregard for diplomatic boundaries. In short, diplomacy usually works through quiet negotiations. Megaphone diplomacy, on the other hand, works through statements like this. And when the megaphone is loud enough, it sometimes begins to sound less like strategy and more like comedy. #trump #iran #🚹உளவியல் சிந்தனை #📺அரசியல் 360🔴
