Renowned Tamil film director and actor Bharathiraja has passed away. Despite a legendary career spanning over 40 films and winning 6 National Awards and a Padma Shri, his dream of working with actor Thalapathy Vijay remained unfulfilled. Bharathiraja, who debuted in 1977, was credited with bringing Tamil cinema out of studios to realistic locations. Vijay recently visited the director's residence in Neelankarai to pay his respects.
