ലോക ജനതയെ ''ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്തവകാശത്തെ"" കുറിച്ച് ഓര്മ്മപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന ദിവസമാണ് ഏപ്രില് 26.
പകര്പ്പവകാശം, ട്രേഡ് മാര്ക്ക് ,കണ്ടുപിടിത്തങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള പേറ്റന്റ്, വ്യാവസായിക ദെസൈന് അവകാശം, ട്രേഡ് സീക്രട്ട് അവകാശം എന്നിവയെല്ലാം, ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്തവകശത്തില് പെടും. ഗിയോഗ്രഫികല് ഇന്ഡിക്കേഷന് ,ധാര്മ്മിക അവകാശം,പരമ്പരാഗത വ്ജ്ഞാനം,തുടങ്ങി പലതും ഇതിനു കീഴില് പെടുന്നുണ്ട്.
ഒരു വ്യക്തിയുടേയോ സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റേയോ സംഘടനയുടേയോ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സ്വത്താണ്! ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്ത്
ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്തവകാശത്തില് ലോക ജനതയ്ക്ക് അവബോധം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതിനയി 2001 ല് ലോക ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്തവകാശ സംഘടനയാണ് ഈ ദിവസം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത്. ക്രിയാത്മകത ഊട്ടി ഉറപ്പിക്കുക എന്നതാണ് ഇക്കൊല്ലത്തെ ദിനാചരണ മുദ്രാവക്യം.
ദൈനം ദിന ജീവിതത്തില് ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്തവകാശത്തിനുള്ള പങ്ക് ബോദ്ധ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനുള്ള ദിനമാണിത്. ലോകത്തുടനീളമുള്ള നവീന അശയക്കാരുടെയും കലാകാരന്മാരുടേയും സമൂഹ്യ വികസനത്തിനായുള്ള സംഭാവനകള് ഈ ദിനത്തില് ശ്രദ്ധേയമാകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്തവകാശ സംഘടന 1970ല് നിലവില് വന്ന ദിനമാണ് ഏപ്രില് 26. അതു കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ഈ ദിനം ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്തവകാശ ദിനമായി കരുതുന്നു. 2001 ല് ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്തവകാശ ദിനം നിലവില് വന്നതു മുതല് രോ വിഷങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെടുത്തിയാണ് അത് അഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്.
2001 ല് 'ഭാവി സൃഷ്ടിക്കല് ദിനം" ആയി ആഘോഷിച്ചിരുന്നു. 2002 ലും 2004 ലും 2007 ലും ' ക്രിയാത്മകത ഊട്ടി ഉറപ്പിക്കുക "എന്നതായിരുന്നു മുദ്രാവാക്യം.
2003 ല് 'ബിസ്സിനസ്സിലെ ബൗദ്ധിക സ്വത്തവകാശം" ആയിരുന്നെങ്കില് 2005 ല് 'ചിന്തിക്കുക, സങ്കല്പ്പിക്കുക, സൃഷ്ടിക്കുക" എന്നതായിരുന്നു വിഷയം. 2006 ല് 'ഒരു ആശയത്തോടെ തുടങ്ങുക" എന്നതായിരുന്നു മുഖ്യ അജണ്ട

World Intellectual Property Day is observed annually on 26 April. The event was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000 to "raise awareness of how patents, copyright, trademarks and designs impact on daily life" and "to celebrate creativity, and the contribution made by creators and innovators to the development of societies across the globe". 26 April was chosen as the date for World Intellectual Property Day because it coincides with the date on which the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization entered into force in 1970.
An exhibition showing the intellectual property (IP) behind Steve Jobs’ innovations opened to the public at WIPO on 30 March 2012 and ran through to World Intellectual Property Day on 26 April 2012. The exhibition tied in with 2012's World Intellectual Property Day theme – 'Visionary Innovators'.
*History*
Following a statement made at the Assembly of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in September 1998, the Director General of the National Algerian Institute for Industrial Property (INAPI) proposed on 7 April 1999 the institutionalisation of an international day for intellectual property, with the aim of
"[setting up] a framework for broader mobilization and awareness, [opening up] access to the promotional aspect of innovation and [recognizing] the achievements of promoters of intellectual property throughout the world."
On 9 August 1999, the Chinese delegation to the WIPO proposed the adoption of the "World Intellectual Property Day"
"in order to further promote the awareness of intellectual property protection, expand the influence of intellectual property protection across the world, urge countries to publicize and popularize intellectual property protection laws and regulations, enhance the public legal awareness of intellectual property rights, encourage invention-innovation activities in various countries and strengthen international exchange in the intellectual property field".
In October 1999, the General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) approved the idea of declaring a particular day as a World Intellectual Property Day.
