Fuel prices have increased again as oil companies hiked petrol by ₹2.61 and diesel by ₹2.71 per liter. In Bhubaneswar, petrol is now near ₹110 while diesel has crossed ₹100. This is the fourth hike in the last 10 days, attributed to the Iran war impact on crude oil prices and currency depreciation. Experts warn that rising diesel costs will lead to inflation in essential commodities like vegetables and pulses. India, importing 85% of its oil, is heavily affected by global supply chain disruptions caused by the conflict.
