Internal conflict within West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has reached the Election Commission. A rebel faction led by expelled MLA Ritabrata Banerjee has claimed ownership of the party name and 'Ghash-Phul' symbol, asserting support from 60 out of 80 MLAs. The group previously moved to remove Mamata Banerjee as party president, appointing Arup Roy instead. The Election Commission is now reviewing documents and support letters from both sides to determine the rightful claimant of the party identity.
