The first edition of the World Yogasana Competition was inaugurated in Ahmedabad at EKA Arena. Indian athletes started strong, with Ritu Mondal and Abhay Barman winning the first two gold medals for India in the senior traditional category. Other gold medalists for India included Ritu Thakur, Roshan Thappa, and Jyoti Diukar. Singapore's Nathaniel Tan also secured a gold medal.
