An illegal stone mining operation in Sundargarh district has reportedly destroyed a village road and encroached upon 1.60 acres of private land in Balisankara Tehsil. Following complaints from local resident Anita Choudhury and villagers of Dangaramunda, the Revenue and Mining departments, along with police, conducted a joint site investigation. Thousands of tons of stone were allegedly excavated in violation of Odisha Minor Mineral Concession Rules 2016.
