Congress party workers staged a road blockade in Nabarangpur protesting against the administration's negligence. Felled trees left on the road during a widening project caused accidents claiming 7 lives. Following the protest led by Akhil Bhatra, the Public Works Department and local administration reached the spot. Compensation of ₹50,000 was given to one victim's family, and ₹10,000 each from Red Cross to others.
