📖 Today’s Gospel — April 29, 2026 Wednesday of the 4th Week of Easter John 12:44–50 Jesus cries out—not in silence, but openly: “Whoever believes in me believes not only in me, but in Him who sent me.” To see Jesus is to see the Father. Not a reflection. Not a shadow. The very image of God. “And whoever sees me sees Him who sent me.” This is not distance. This is revelation. Then He declares: “I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness.” Light has come. Darkness is not forced away— it is left behind when we choose to step into the light. “I do not judge anyone who hears my words and does not keep them…” Not because truth is weak— but because mercy is still open. “I came not to judge the world but to save the world.” Yet the warning remains: “The word that I have spoken will judge on the last day.” Truth stands. Unchanged. Not to condemn— but to reveal. Then the foundation: “I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak.” And the purpose: “I know that His commandment is eternal life.” Everything Jesus speaks leads to life. ✨ Reflection This Gospel confronts a deeper issue of modern life: selective belief. Many accept parts of truth but resist full surrender. Jesus does not offer partial light—He offers full illumination. The challenge is not exposure to truth, but willingness to live in it. Light reveals, and sometimes that is uncomfortable. But only in the light is there life. 💡 Context (Important) This passage concludes Jesus’ public ministry in John’s Gospel. From here, He turns privately to His disciples. It serves as a final summary: Jesus reveals the Father, brings light into the world, and speaks words that lead to eternal life.
