Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh stated that this move aims to reduce the burden on government hospitals and ensure timely treatment for common surgeries like appendix, gallbladder, and ENT issues. Additionally, the scheme's eligibility has been extended to single individuals, including senior citizens and widows, who were previously excluded.
