Rajya Sabha MP Debashish Samantaray has resigned from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). He sent his resignation letter to party supremo Naveen Patnaik. Following the exits of Sujeet Kumar and Mamata Mohanta, Samantaray is the third MP to leave the party recently. Although he was a senior leader and close associate of Naveen Patnaik, he had been reportedly dissatisfied and inactive in party affairs for several months.
