The carcass of a male elephant calf was recovered from the Sanghapashi Khasada forest under the Riamal Forest Range in Deogarh district. The calf was part of a herd that had migrated from Angul district on Friday. Local residents spotted the body and alerted the forest department officials. Forester Manmath Behera and Forest Guard Bahan Behera reached the spot to initiate an investigation.
