Following the discovery of an elephant's carcass buried in a farmhouse in the Hindol area of Dhenkanal district, the forest department suspended Hindol Forester Diptiranjan Acharya. A show-cause notice was also issued to Range Officer Trilochan Dehury. The farmhouse owner, Pramod Kumar Raj, allegedly killed the elephant using an 11 KV electric fence and buried it to hide the evidence.
