Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka at Lok Bhavan. Governor Thawarchand Gehlot administered the oath to him and 13 other ministers, including G. Parameshwara. Shivakumar, a strong leader of the Vokkaliga community, took the oath in the name of his deity holding a copy of the Constitution.
