The Odisha High Court has ordered a nationalized bank to pay ₹20 lakh each as compensation to two temporary employees who were dismissed after 30 years of service. Despite having 10 years left until retirement, they were removed in July 2019 with minimal compensation. A division bench comprising Justice Dixit Krishna Sripada and Justice Chittaranjan Dash directed the bank to pay the amount within 8 weeks.
