The skeletal remains of an elephant calf were recovered by forest officials from the Paichhalia forest in Ganjam district, Odisha. A goat herder first spotted the carcass, which is estimated to be about two months old. Forest officials, including the DFO, visited the spot and collected samples of skin, bones, and teeth to send to OUAT Bhubaneswar for further testing.
