Ayodhya's bar association has warned of a 5 lakh fine for anyone defending the accused in the Ram Mandir donation theft case. It was revealed that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was aware of the misappropriation earlier and had recovered 58 lakh rupees before the SIT probe officially started. Following the scandal, General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra resigned.
