The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved a record dividend payout of ₹2.87 lakh crore (₹2,86,588.46 crore) to the central government for the 2025-26 fiscal year. This decision was taken during the 623rd board meeting chaired by Governor Sanjay Malhotra in Mumbai. The dividend is approximately ₹18,000 crore higher than the previous year's ₹2.69 lakh crore.
