Odisha aims to become the marine fish and shrimp export hub of Eastern India. Minister Gokulanand Mallik launched the 'Odisha Deep Sea Fishing Mission' and 'Odisha Shrimp Mission' to boost the blue economy. The initiative targets an additional 2 lakh metric tonnes of marine production annually, creating over 50,000 jobs. By 2036, export revenue is projected to reach ₹5,000 crore.
