Following a request from Odisha CM Mohan Majhi, West Bengal leader Suvendu Adhikari announced that the word 'Dham' will be removed from the Digha Jagannath Temple's name. It will now be known as the 'Digha Jagannath Cultural Centre'. Adhikari stated that the previous government's naming was against Sanatana Dharma traditions. A cabinet proposal will be moved soon for this change.
