A high-ranking probationary ASI of Chandigarh Police, Hitesh Kumar, who topped the recruitment exam 2.5 years ago, was caught red-handed by the CBI for accepting a bribe of ₹40,000. Despite a mutual settlement between parties in a road accident case, the officer allegedly extorted money and illegally detained a car at the Sector-39 police station.
