The nomination paper of Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan for the Madhya Pradesh Rajya Sabha elections was rejected by the Returning Officer following a BJP complaint. BJP candidate Mahesh Kawat alleged that Natarajan concealed information about a pending criminal case in a Telangana court in her affidavit. Congress leaders, including K.C. Venugopal, protested the decision and staged a dharna outside Nirvachan Sadan.
