On 7 May 2026, a major truck rampage incident took place in the Saphale market area of Palghar district, Maharashtra, when a cement loaded truck allegedly driven by an intoxicated driver crashed into multiple vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, injuring several people and causing heavy damage in the crowded area. According to police, the driver, identified as 30-year-old Ranjit Kumar Mahto from Bihar, continued driving dangerously for nearly 1.5 km after the initial crashes before locals chased and stopped the truck.
