On World Environment Day, the Kaithakhandi Panchayat of Digapahandi block was honored with the 'Prakruti Mitra' award by the Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change. Sarpanch Manoranjan Gauda received a cash prize of 20,000 rupees and a certificate for his contribution to plantation and environmental awareness. Additionally, Chintamani Palai, Principal of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, and farmer K. Shyam Sundar Dora were conferred with the 'Prakruti Bandhu' award.
