The Delhi High Court has granted a three-day interim bail to former JNU student leader Umar Khalid from June 1 to June 3. The bail was granted to allow Khalid to attend to his mother, Sabiha Khanum, who is scheduled for surgery on June 2. Khalid had initially requested 15 days of bail, citing his responsibility as the only son to care for his elderly parents, but the bench led by Justices Naveen Chawla and Arvind Dudeja restricted it to three days.
