Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, a 1994 batch IPS officer originally from Bathinda, Punjab, has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Tamil Nadu. He took charge at the police headquarters in Chennai, filling a vacancy left since August 2025. Before this, Agarwal was serving as Special DG in the BSF on central deputation.
