The Budhabalanga river embankment project in Baripada has been uncertain for 13 years despite multiple surveys and election promises. Recently, Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra initiated a new survey for the project, estimated to cost 360 crore rupees. Earlier attempts failed due to local opposition and lack of bidders in the tendering process.
