The Union Budget for the financial year 2026–27 was presented on 1 February 2026 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha, and it sets total expenditure at about ₹53.5 lakh crore with a fiscal deficit target of around 4.3 % of GDP.
