In April 2026, at a resort in Ubud, in Bali, four Indian tourists were stopped by hotel staff during checkout after items were reported missing from their room; upon checking their luggage near their parked vehicle, staff found multiple hotel owned items including towels, bathrobes, a hairdryer, a doormat, cutlery, and other reusable property that are not meant to be taken, and the confrontation—showing the items being taken out of bags.
Eventually the tourists returned all the items immediately at the spot, and the situation was resolved by the resort without involving police or initiating any legal action, while the identities of the tourists and the specific resort were not officially disclosed.
