On 22 April 2026, a shocking murder took place in Amar Colony where a 22-year-old IIT graduate and UPSC aspirant, daughter of a senior IRS officer, was found dead at her home while alone; the accused, Rahul Meena, a former domestic help who was familiar with the house, allegedly entered using trust or prior access, initially attempted robbery, then sexually assaulted her, attacked her with a heavy object, and strangled her using a cable, later trying to open the locker with her fingerprint and stealing cash and jewellery worth around ₹2–3 lakh before fleeing; police tracked him through CCTV footage and arrested him within hours from the Dwarka area, after which he was taken into custody, reportedly confessed that he committed the crime for money, and is now being interrogated further as investigators also probe his possible involvement in a prior crime in Rajasthan, where he sexually assaulted another woman, a day before, making the case a major trigger for concerns around domestic worker verification and home security in Delhi. #Delhi
