On 26th June 2026: In Ladakh near Pangong Tso and protected wildlife areas including parts of the Changthang region, authorities took first-of-its-kind enforcement action against four tourists for illegal off-roading in ecologically sensitive zones. The four were fined ₹50,000 each (total ₹2 lakh) under wildlife protection rules, and vehicles involved — including reports mentioning a Mahindra Thar, Hyundai Creta and Toyota Fortuner — were temporarily seized. Reports also stated that violations included driving into sensitive terrain and chasing wildlife such as Tibetan gazelles. #ladakh

On 21st June 2026, personnel of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) performed yoga near Pangong Lake in Ladakh as part of International Yoga Day celebrations.
