🚨 Major Crackdown at Attibele! 25 Private Buses Seized for Tax Evasion 💰🚌 In a surprise early-morning operation, Karnataka Transport Department officials seized over 25 private buses at the Attibele check-post for evading state road tax. 🔹 Time: 4:00 AM – 10:30 AM 🔹 Led by: Additional Transport Commissioner Omkareshwari, with Joint Commissioners Shobha & Gayathri These buses — registered in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh — had paid taxes only in their home states but were illegally operating commercial trips in Karnataka. 👉 Although they held All India Tourist Permits (AITP), they violated permit rules by picking up individual passengers like stage carriages instead of running as tourist contract services. 💸 The enforcement drive is expected to generate nearly ₹1 crore in fines, calculated per seat and berth.
