🪖 DEFENCE NEWS 1️⃣ Historic Boost to India’s Defence Strength Union Budget 2026 has raised India’s defence spending by 15.3% to ₹7.84 lakh crore, marking one of the strongest commitments to national security in recent years. 🔹 ₹3.65 lakh crore – Defence Services (Revenue) 🔹 ₹2.19 lakh crore – Capital Outlay 🔹 ₹1.71 lakh crore – Defence Pensions Capital expenditure has risen by 21.8%, clearly underlining India’s focus on modernisation, advanced platforms, indigenous weapons, Make in India, defence exports, and post-Pakistan conflict operational lessons. This reflects India’s unwavering resolve for military readiness and self-reliance. 2️⃣ New Leadership at Eastern Air Command Air Marshal Inderpal Singh Walia has assumed charge as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command. Commissioned into the Fighter Stream of the Indian Air Force in June 1988, he is qualified on MiG-21, MiG-23, MiG-27, Jaguar and Su-30 MKI aircraft. A decorated officer, he is a recipient of the Vayu Sena Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, symbolising excellence, courage and service to the nation. 3️⃣ Indian Navy Inspires Fitness & National Pride The Indian Navy organised a Half-Marathon in Delhi, witnessing participation from over 13,500 citizens.
