Today Revelation Meditation : 05/02/2026 The book of Revelation Explanation Post -211 XVIII) 4) “But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.” (Revelation 11:2) Beloved saints of the Lord, according to God’s plan, the temple built by Solomon and later the temple rebuilt by Zerubbabel (the son of Shealtiel) had three main sections: the Most Holy Place, the inner court, and the outer court (an open area). When King Herod built the third temple, since he was a Gentile, he added a fourth court specifically for the Gentiles. These were: 1. The Court of the Priests. 2. The Court of Israel. 3. The Court of Women. 4. The Court of the Gentiles. As it is written, “My house will be called a house of prayer,” but you are making it “a den of robbers.” (Matthew 21:12–13; Mark 11:15). According to these words, the Lord rebuked the chief priests and the teachers of the law for their wrongdoing. The apostle John was told not to measure the outer court of the temple because it would not be counted or protected by God. That area had already been given over to the Gentiles, the angel said. The term “Gentiles” comes from words such as Ethnos in Greek and Goy in Hebrew. This word appears 23 times in the book of Revelation. Scripture declares that the Gentiles will trample the holy city (Jerusalem) for forty-two months. This fulfills the prophecy: “Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” (Luke 21:24). These forty-two months refer to the latter half of the tribulation period — three and a half years. In the middle of the seven-year tribulation, the Antichrist will break his covenant with Israel. He will wage war against the Jews, especially against the city of Jerusalem. He will set up his image in the temple and defile it. After the secret coming of Christ, this city—once handed over to the Gentiles—will be blessed as the capital during the thousand-year reign. God Himself has called Jerusalem the Holy City in Scripture (Nehemiah 11:1,18; Isaiah 52:1; Daniel 9:24; Matthew 4:5; Matthew 27:52–53). As the Lord declared, “This is Jerusalem, which I have set in the center of the nations.” (Ezekiel 5:5). Accepted as the capital of Israel by King David about 3,000 years ago, this city has faced many wars throughout history. Today, not only Jews but also Christians and Muslims recognize Jerusalem as a sacred place. In the ministry of Christ, Apostle I.
