Farming activities in Odisha's Sundargarh district have been severely affected due to delayed monsoon and lack of rainfall in April and May. Out of 3.2 lakh hectares of cultivable land, not even 100 hectares have been cultivated across 17 blocks by the end of May. Many blocks like Lathikata and Bisra report zero farming progress. Farmers are anxious as the Meteorological Department predicts lower rainfall this year compared to last year, raising fears that large tracts of land might remain fallow if the situation doesn't improve in June and July. https://sambad.in/state/farming-is-not-possible-due-to-lack-of-rain-11888518 #creator program
