An interstate gang of cattle lifters has become active in the Lathikata block of Sundargarh district, Odisha. In the last six months, approximately 260 cows and 22 buffaloes worth over 1 crore rupees have been stolen from villages like Kulamunda and Ergeda. Farmers have filed complaints at the Lathikata police station, alleging that the gang operates by driving the cattle across railway lines and state borders into Jharkhand.
