Renowned economist Neelkanth Mishra has been appointed as the Executive Director of the World Bank for a period of three years. Approved by the Cabinet Committee, he will replace retired IAS officer Parameswaran Iyer. Currently a member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council, Mishra is also the Chief Economist at Axis Bank and a gold medalist from IIT Kanpur.
