Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar has officially taken charge as the 48th Vice Chief of the Naval Staff (VCNS) of the Indian Navy. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy commissioned in 1988, he has a distinguished career spanning over 37 years. He has commanded major warships like INS Vikramaditya and INS Trikand. Kochhar has been honored with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) for his exceptional service.
