The Brahmagiri Forest Division in Puri, Odisha, has achieved a record-breaking success in Olive Ridley sea turtle conservation. During the 2025-26 nesting season, a total of 66,451 hatchlings were safely released into the sea from Baliharchandi and Chapamanika beaches. Forest officials collected 74,920 eggs from 646 nests and placed them in temporary hatcheries for safe incubation. Strict coastal patrolling and measures against illegal trawlers contributed to this all-time high success rate. https://zeenews.india.com/hindi/zeeodisha/state-news/brahmagiri-forest-division-release-of-66-thousand-451-olive-ridley-hatchlings-into-sea/3223036 #creator program
