The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, has announced the National Panchayat Awards 2025. Odisha has been selected for 5 national awards across various categories. Koraput Zilla Parishad has secured the first position as the Best District Panchayat under the Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Bikash Puraskar, winning a prize of Rs 5 crore. Other winners include Potalampur (Ganjam), Padua (Keonjhar), Hatibandha (Sundargarh), and Mandar (Ganjam) Panchayats in categories like healthy, water sufficient, clean & green, and socially secured panchayats.
