Arman Soreng, the son of a contract laborer from Sundargarh, Odisha, has overcome extreme poverty to win a gold medal with the Indian U-18 hockey team at the Asia Cup in Japan. Despite financial hardships and a lack of resources, Arman's dedication led him from local grounds to the Rourkela Sports Hostel in 2022. He played a key role in defeating Pakistan in the semifinals and Japan in the finals.
