A 17-year-old class 9 student allegedly kidnapped a 15-year-old class 10 girl from a village in Ganjam's Digapahandi block. The incident took place when the girl was alone at home. The victim's mother alleged that the boy's parents assisted in the kidnapping and later threatened them with death over the phone. The boy's family initially claimed the girl was with them in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, but failed to return her.
