A violent protest broke out in Laxmipur, Koraput district, following a knife attack on a tribal youth. Enraged by the police's failure to arrest the accused within 24 hours, locals armed with sticks vandalized shops at the bus stand and blocked National Highway 326. The blockade has disrupted traffic between Rayagada and Koraput.
