At least 11 elderly people died and seven others were injured after a massive fire broke out at the Mawpiya Sevana elders' home in Anguruwatota, Kalutara district, Sri Lanka. The fire reportedly spread rapidly following a gas cylinder explosion on Wednesday evening. While 10 victims died on the spot, one succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
