ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI) has developed 'Ecolime+', a value-added product made from industrial waste like slag and fly ash, to manage acidic soils in Odisha. This innovation helps save 10-15% of DAP fertilizer and boosts rice yields by 8-16% and pulse yields by 12-19%. Developed under the SAFAR project funded by the Odisha government, it has been tested across 1000 hectares in six districts including Cuttack and Sundargarh.
